Manny Ramirez

This Morning on Outside the Lines (OTL). They had a special on Manny Ramirez that basically showed how selfish he really is and what a cancer to a team he can be. He is now a free agent again and is probably going to be cashing in at close to 30 million a year. I know if the owners got together and decided not to pay him it would be considered collusion and is illegal and morally wrong, however if there was ever a point to go there then I believe this is as good as one as possible. I am sure there is some form of agreement among the owners to avoid Barry Bonds, I don't think that they got together and decided this but I do believe it has become assumed by all owners. This same assumed status could be used to not pay Manny that kind of mad money he is about to receive.

Perfection?

Back in August I posted the
rules for drafting a Fantasy Football team. Well apparently these rules seem to be working as you can see my team now stands at 10-0. Having already clinched my division and a playoff spot I was thinking about resting my players, then I thought again about how stupid that would be. All in all I have to admit that I have been lucky avoiding big injuries, in fact my only really injury was Reggie Bush but I got lucky during the draft taking Rookie Tim Hightower who has filled in very well.

I think my steal was taking Kurt Warner in the ninth round. When we drafted he was already announced as the starter in Arizona and I fould it kind of odd that the two Arizona wideouts (Boldin and Fitzgerald) would both go in the first three rounds along with Edgerin James going in the fourth round but no one wanted anything to do with Warner. I may not be an expert but if Boldin and Fitzgerald are likely to score between 10 - 15 td's each and one would expect James to get at least 5 receiveing Td's (this has happened to transfer from James to Hightower) then who is going to throw these 30+ td's? I will admit I also played it safe and took Leinhart as a backup QB.

America is a better Place.

Tonight across this great country, Americans of all makes, religions, heritage, and even race did the unthinkable. We elected an African American to be the President of the United States of America. Yes America Barack Obama won this election and by connection we all won. I have to say I have never been prouder to be an American then I am at this exact minute in time.

My Civic Responsibility.

Bright and early this morning I did my civic Responsibility and voted. I am very proud to say that I voted for Barack Obama and Joe Biden to be the next President and Vice President of the United States of America. This is my 200th post since I started this little blog site and I have to say it is one of my proudest.

Sad Day

Sad day, It was announced this morning that Barack Obama's grandmother has passed away. Below is the statement from Obama and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng:

"It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer. She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.
Our family wants to thank all of those who sent flowers, cards, well-wishes, and prayers during this difficult time. It brought our grandmother and us great comfort. Our grandmother was a private woman, and we will respect her wish for a small private ceremony to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to any worthy organization in search of a cure for cancer."

Please take the time to say a prayer for this wonderful family and do the one thing this lovely lady would want more then anything in the world; Vote. Wake up tomorrow grab a family member or a friend and get out there and vote. Offer to drive, or walk with an elderly neighbor to the polls. Talk to your co-workers, call all of your friends and remember the more people that vote the better.

Joe the Plumber

No matter what happens in this election, I have to say that most disappointing thing to happen in this election is Joe the Plumber. I am not claiming the McCain's usage of him, I am talking about what actually happen to the man himself. I originally seen the initial video over on Jedreport and I have to say I seen two men, one who appeared to be a concerned citizen and someone who I thought was very Presidential. Obama answered Joe question perfectly, he talked to him not at him and he even answered follow-up questions. After the interview Joe was gracious and thanked him for his time and they went separate ways. Since this meeting Joe has completely turned into a paid shill for the McCain campaign. I am sure he is getting paid well and I hope his 15 minutes does make him wealthy but I have trouble believing the crap that he has been spewing against Obama is worth it.

In the long run he is going to be remembered as the Plumber without a license, who lied about buying a company and worrying about his taxes going up even though in the past he didn't even pay his taxes. I guess he went from fixing the toilet directly into the toilet.

Update: Over at TPM They have posted a video of Joe the Asshole basically calling Obama a Traitor. Who does this guy think he is. Isn't it ashame some uneducated tax evading moron can get time on a channel that claims to be a news station. Let's be truthful here Faux news is a complete joke as is Joe the Douchebag. Hey Joe my toilet is back up why don't you go get a license then come fix it.
